Thursdays, January 16 - February 6, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm - 4 Sessions

Create beautiful, vibrant papers!


Learn to paint and transform plain paper into beautifully textured and colorful pieces, perfect for creating unique collages.

Week 1: Doodle, draw, and make marks on a variety of paper to develop unique patterns and designs.

Week 2: Paint on paper and magazine pages, creating colorful, textured papers with bold patterns using paint and stencil.

Week 3: Use gel plate printing to create intricate patterns and layered designs on paper.

Week 4: Guided open studio—incorporate your handmade papers into a mixed media collage painting of your choice.

SUPPLIES TO BRING

  • Tissue paper, deli paper, specialty paper, white paper, ink, pencil, posca pen, gel pen, stencil,
  • Magazine paper, paint (all sorts of color), brush, water cup, paper towels, tools to create texture and pattern, hair dryer
  • Gel plate, brayer, yarn, spray bottle, stamps
  • Matte medium and or matte gel medium

Behnaz will also bring these same supplies.


ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Behnaz Ahmadian just recently joined Park Hill Art Club. She is a self-taught artist specializing in acrylic and mixed media. With a background in interior design, she brings a keen sense of color and pattern to her work.

Behnaz offers a range of classes, currently teaching at ASLD, Curtis Center for the Arts and TriArts, from drawing and colored pencils to mixed media and collage. Her inspiration comes from her upbringing in a creative family and her love of nature. While she enjoys experimenting with various techniques, Behnaz believes that art should be joyful and expressive, connecting deeply to personal experiences and memories.
