Workshops

Workshops are scheduled throughout the year, featuring both local and national instructors. These workshops vary in length from one day to one week. Fees vary according to the workshop.

Gary Michael — Color Magic

September 18 &19 — 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Color puts the poetry into painting, yet many who paint miss much of their palette's potential.
Gary will show you how to get more resonance, variety and nuance that you can apply to every
painting. Expand your color comfort level and go into "hitherto" unexplored areas. This
workshop is for all levels and all mediums.

Fee for two-day workshop: PHAC members $100.00 per person, $120.00 non-members

Chuck Danford — Magic of Pouring Watercolor

October 12 & 13 — 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Enjoy exploring one of the most exciting ways to create watercolors that produces unusual
atmospheric effects with a radiance that cannot be achieved any other way. Indirect painting is
done by pouring paint. This technique captures dozens of subtle color variations enabling you to
complete vivid paintings with a luminous quality. Paint will mix on the paper to create some
amazing color and textural effects. Don't miss this opportunity to work with other artists to learn
and explore some other new methods and techniques. Chuck will do a demo each day and will
provide individual instruction.

Fee for two-day workshop: PHAC members $100.00 per person, $120.00 non-members.

Park Hill Art Club Workshop Guidelines

Time Tip:   See schedules above. Included is an hour for lunch.

Tummy Tip:  Bring a sack lunch. PHAC will provide tea and coffee.

Courtesy Tip:   Turn off cell phones during class. Better yet. leave them outside the classroom.

Materials Tip:   You will receive a supply list two weeks prior to your workshop.

Payment:   To hold your place in a multi-day workshop, a deposit of 1/2 the fee is required when you register. You may not enrolI in just part of a multi-day workshop. Payment in full is due 3 weeks before a workshop. All payments are fully refundable up to 3 weeks prior to a workshop. Non-PHAC members may attend workshops but add $20 to the stated fee. (PHAC members receive priority registration consideration.)
