Class 3: "Continued studies in color" - Gigi Lambert"

New students can begin with color studies (described below) and continuing students can move through more color studies and/or creating mixed media color-based art exploring personal direction in either paint, drawing or mixed media approaches. This class is designed to build awareness and perception of color, as well as, developing skills in using the three basic levels of color saturation. The beginning of the class will be a very directed "play" with color, creating collages using color and form (no painting/drawing background necessary). This directed play is like doing push-ups for the eyes. Through a series of collage exercises each student will create lovely pieces of work that will challenge and build their perception and utilization of color. These experiences form a solid base of knowledge that is both fun and essential to any artist. Information is easily transferred to any media using color. Individual projects in any media, time permitting.

An option for the class would be for students to choose various art masters and use their techniques, color and styles to create their own works. Art history/philosophy, art fundamentals (color, composition, design, brushwork, etc.) will be discussed.
